Engaged, compassionate, grounded, regulated presence is the foundation for the performance of strong executive function. This is the heart of ADHD Coaching with me, Dana Crews.
Reduce stress, reactivity, distraction & procrastination with supportive problem solving. Let's bridge the gap between intention & action.

To understand the Second Arrow, allow me to describe the First Arrow. The First Arrow refers to the unavoidable difficulties of being human. Life includes struggles & challenges we do not choose & often cannot control. There is a host of obstacles: having ADHD, experiencing loss, living with chronic pain, navigating everyday stressors, & facing the uncertainty of life in general. Whether we like to admit it or not, & like it or not, these can all play a major part of our lived reality. These experiences can be deeply difficult, frustrating, & at times overwhelming.
The First Arrow is what happens TO US.
The Second Arrow is HOW WE RESPOND.
This is where CHOICE & AGENCY BECOME POSSIBLE.
The Second Arrow is a metaphor describing the additional suffering we layer onto an already complicated experience. It shows up through our reactions, thoughts, & inner critic. We may ask, “Why me?” “Why now?” or “Why can't this be different?” Often, we turn against ourselves or others—blaming, judging, or carrying guilt & shame for things being exactly as they are. We may deny, ignore, repress, or try to numb our feelings through distraction, food, alcohol, shopping, or over functioning.
Through awareness, we are able to soften the grip of the Second Arrow, returning again & again to compassionate presence. Meeting experience as it is, in each moment, with less judgment, allows connection & insight to naturally arise. Over time, this cultivates self-efficacy, belief & confidence in our own ability to learn & grow. This reduces the suffering that IS within our control.
At Second Arrow ADHD Coaching, my motivation is to guide individuals in navigating life's challenges with compassionate mindfulness, resilience, & intentional action. By integrating self-regulation & emotional regulation strategies with evidence-based care, we will cultivate a more skillful & supportive approach to not only managing ADHD but thriving with it.
Dana is a kind, compassionate coach. She has taught me several tools & strategies to use for myself regarding ADHD as well as for me to use with my clients. I have developed a healthier & more sustainable daily, weekly & monthly routine due to working with her for just 12 weeks.
Thank you Dana.
-Licensed Professional Counselor
Dana's insight & support were instrumental in building my understanding, acceptance, & accommodation of ADHD late in life. Her process is responsive to the needs & interests of her clients, professional, & effective.
With her help, I feel prepared to take on more ambitious challenges in life, with a more robust set of emotional & practical tools for managing myself & in relationships. This coaching experience was a worthwhile investment of emotional & financial energy & something I plan to return to as needed when life gets tough.
-Community Leader, Builder & Organizer
I meet Dana at a chaotic time in my life. I was paralyzed by inaction as I circled around in a shame spiral, believing my whole life I was lazy, depressed, or just plain exhausted.
Dana helped me to challenge negative beliefs. She helped me interrupt the cycle of blame, shame & “if I ignore it, it will go away”.
Dana & I focused on major life goals, hiccups & how best to improve the situation at hand. Dana showed me how to be kind & compassionate towards myself. I always came away from our meetings equipped with tools or solutions to experiment with.
If I hadn’t worked with Dana, I’m not sure I would not have survived all of my HUGE life changes.
-Non-Profit Director
Working with Dana has been a life changer for me. I had a new ADHD diagnosis for myself & my 6-year-old son. Dana taught me so much about what ADHD is & how it impacts my day-to-day life. She then coached me on strategies to help support my own areas of challenges as well as my son’s.
She is excellent at offering information, strategies, understanding, affirmations, & encouragement. Dana helped me break down things into manageable pieces & be held accountable in order to be successful. She helped me to implement lifelong supports in place in order to make life easier, heathier, & more joyful.
I can’t say enough about Dana & what she has to offer. Her unique holistic, mindful approach is exactly what everyone needs in life.

My behavior & actions are more in line with my to-do-list, long-term goals & core values.
Dana has exponentially helped me to increase my own self-awareness, self-reflection, & personal growth. I am immensely happy with the time I have spent coaching with her. I cannot recommend Dana's program enough!
