Embarking on or sustaining the journey of college can bring about unique challenges for both students & their families. These challenges can manifest as struggling to maintain healthy routines, managing time wisely, & prioritizing effectively.
Emotional Regulation is the Foundation of ADHD Care. Your child is likely challenged by the emotional highs & lows of college life, a newfound independence, & the stress that comes with the social & academic pressures. Your child is not lazy, a bad person, & certainly not dumb or incapable.
ADHD is a performance disorder of Executive Function skills & Self-Regulation.
College students' brains are still growing, Executive Function, our brain's management system, is still maturing, & having ADHD further complicates this developmental process.
My role as their coach is to help them learn about their brain's, guide them in unlocking their potential & flourish mentally & emotionally in this new & different landscape.

With almost two decades of experience as a behavioral health specialist, social worker & ADHD Coach, I've worked extensively with students of all ages & their families. Personally, I struggled in college & grad school, & this is exactly the information & support I wish I had during that time. As individuals with ADHD, driven by stimulation & interest, it's essential to learn about ourselves & understand how ADHD effects our lives in very real ways.
I understand & relate to the struggles of procrastination, getting started, completing a difficult task or getting stuck on an important step along the way. This seemingly unending cycle of being tied up or lost in distractions of whatever new & shinny objects there are or the excitement of social interactions & relationships. You don't have to navigate this alone. With one-on-one or group support you will feel held & whole.
ADHD Coaching with me is built on three pillars: emotional & self-regulation tools, optimal executive functioning, & building routines for overall mental health & wellbeing. Together, we will examine mindset, & the language we use to describe ourselves. We will learn stress management techniques & break unhelpful tendencies. Through awareness & compassion, we will explore what may be holding you back & discover how best YOU can thrive. Support, verbal processing & problem-solving will get us through the year or semester together sustainably.

We are so grateful to have meet Dana. My son was diagnosed a few years prior with ADHD, which was accompanied by anxiety & depression. He was in the middle of both switching colleges & majors & was feeling very overwhelmed. Working with Dana not only helped him academically but with his well-being too.
My son has difficulty starting & finishing tasks, remembering assignments, & prioritizing his time. Dana helped him tackle these issues, but she also helped him develop a better self-image through education about ADHD.
She helped him, & us as parents, realize a large percentage of his challenges are NOT due to laziness & lack of motivation.
Dana gave him the tools needed to help with his ADHD symptoms as well as focused on his many strengths! Her support & motivation have given my son self-confidence & better self-esteem, while also improving his performance in school.

The group experience was truly beneficial! Dana, our group leader & facilitator, along with the University Center Coordinator, both brought valuable diversity to the age representation among group members, as I returned to school in my late 30s after a 20-year career at Microsoft. Both shared their personal experience as ADHDers which brought added expertise & credibility. The program not only created a strong sense of community but also greatly enhanced my overall college experience.
Amidst my hectic schedule, the meetings offered both accountability & consistency, increasing stability & significantly enhancing the success & structure of my semester.

This weekly practice boosted my optimism & made me more mindful of my actions. I now take pride in accomplishing even the smallest tasks, eagerly anticipating sharing them with the group.
