In today's competitive academic environment, your college student may be grappling with internal struggles that might not be immediately apparent. As a parent, it's difficult to identify the 'Wall of Awful' & the internal ADHD related shame & guilt spiral creating the largest obstacle for them. It's important to know it's most likely not a lack of motivation; it's their battle with the performance of Executive Function Skills. College students' brains are still maturing, Executive Function, our brain's management system, is still maturing, & ADHD can further complicate this developmental process. ADHD is a reason, not an excuse. My role as their coach is to guide & mentor college students, helping them unlock their potential in prioritizing, planning, task initiation, organization, & time-management.
Embarking on or sustaining the journey of college can bring about unique challenges for both students & their families. These challenges can manifest as struggling to maintain healthy routines & social relationships, managing time wisely, & prioritizing effectively. Additionally, there are also the emotional highs & lows of college life, & the stress hangovers of pulling all-nighters. You are not lazy, a bad person, certainly not dumb, or just lacking will-power. With almost two decades of experience as a behavioral health specialist, social worker & ADHD Coach, I've worked extensively with students facing similar struggles. Personally, I've experienced the difficulties of scheduling & following through with long-term projects or papers. I understand the challenges of procrastination, getting started, completing a difficult task or getting stuck on a step, & the seemingly unending cycle of being tied up or lost in distractions or shinny objects or relationships. You don't have to navigate this alone.
ADHD Coaching with me is built on emotional & self-regulation tools for optimal executive functioning, skill building & over all mental health & wellbeing. Together, we will examine mindset, the language we use to describe ourselves, sleeping, eating & exercise routines. We will learn stress management techniques & break unhelpful habits. As individuals with ADHD, driven by stimulation & interest, it's essential to understand & become more self-aware through compassionate mindfulness. We'll explore what may be holding you back & discover how you can flourish by developing personalized strategies. I provide support & accountability between weekly sessions. We will get through the semester, together, by reducing overwhelm, distraction, procrastination, or avoidance. And instead, increase independence, personal responsibility, & valuable life skills.
Dana has been a huge help to me throughout my academic career. We worked on and through verbal processing, prioritizing, time-management, as well as emotional identification & regulation skills.
The tools I have now were essential in moving me through my college semester with more confidence in my abilities in myself in order to succeed & overcome obstacles.
I look forward to our weekly sessions & communication via text between sessions, as it feels like a team effort.
I continue to grow & learn more about ADHD & the accommodations I can advocate for to better move through school responsibilities & life in general.

We are so grateful to have meet Dana. My son was diagnosed a few years prior with ADHD, which was accompanied by anxiety & depression. He was in the middle of both switching colleges & majors & was feeling very overwhelmed. Working with Dana not only helped him academically but with his well-being too.
My son has difficulty starting & finishing tasks, remembering assignments, & prioritizing his time. Dana helped him tackle these issues, but she also helped him develop a better self-image through education about ADHD.
She helped him, & us as parents, realize a large percentage of his challenges are NOT due to laziness & lack of motivation.
Dana gave him the tools needed to help with his ADHD symptoms as well as focused on his many strengths! Her support & motivation have given my son self-confidence & better self-esteem, while also improving his performance in school.

Dana’s guidance was key in helping me not only get back on my feet from one of the lowest points of my life, but also set me up to succeed.
I was having severe difficulties in academics due to ADHD & anxiety. I was overall not equipped with the skills I needed to tackle the obstacles in everyday life.
Dana provided support by helping me experiment & find strategies that worked for me. She maintains a truly impressive balance between down to earth professionalism & friendliness.
I found her approachable & fun to work with, & very effective in what she does. I genuine believe that Dana can help anyone who comes to her.
